Resolutions unanimously adopted by the Officers and Teachers of the Warren Street Mission Sabbath School Saturday Evening September 5th 1863.

Whereas.  It hath pleased our Heavenly Father to remove from these earthly scenes our friend and recent fellow worker Mr Robert S. Edwards, and

Whereas  In our association with him as laborer in the vineyard of the Lord, we found him ever zealous and faithful, and as a christian brother and friend, deserving, and calling forth our warm attachment. Therefore

Resolved  That the sad tidings of the death of one so young, so strong, so brave and so dearly loved brings deep sorrow to our hearts, while we remember with pleasure and profit to ourselves his earnestness and love for this work of the Lord, his devotion of self to duty, and his often expressed urgent desire in our meetings for the conversion of the souls committed to his charge.

Resolved  That the heroic devotion, and exalted patriotism of our deceased brother in laying down his life on the altar of his country has won our highest love and admiration

Resolved.  While realising how poor the tender of human sympathy, how little we can enter into the feelings of this mourning family in their hour of trial. Yet we cannot refrain from expressing to them our deep sorrow and regard with the assurance that our prayers are offered before the Mercey Seat for them, that this bereavement which worketh great joy to him for whom they mourn, may be sanctified to them, and made to yield the peaceable fruits of righteousness

Resolved  That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family of our deceased brother.
