The Joyce Sports Research Collection: Manuscripts
Introduction

These pages describe the manuscript groups held in the Department of Special Collections' Joyce Sports Research Collection. They contain brief descriptions of processed holdings, accessible via the topical menu to the left. Listings may be linked to full finding aids, in cases where these are available. Collections here described relate to athletic sports, physical culture, health and exercise, and outdoor leisure and recreation. Individual collections are typically distinguished by unity of provenance; consequently, the manuscript groups included on this site vary greatly in size, from a single item to many thousands. Besides handwritten and typewritten texts, listings include other non-published formats with some claim to uniqueness, most notably scrapbooks and photographs. Collections are primarily, though not exclusively, of North American origin.

Patrons interested in manuscript collections relating to the history of Notre Dame athletics should contact the University Archives or visit their website.

Questions and comments regarding this Web page should be directed to its general editor, George Rugg.
