Cool & pleasent, U.S. Hospital Boat gone down river Write Letter to Willis Cook No Battalion Drill, Dress Parade

TUESDAY, AUGUST 11, 1863.

Very warm, on Fatigue Draw Haversack Hard shower at Half past six which spoiled our Review First Division start for Little Rock

Warm, Inspection, Andrews [i.e., Colonel Christopher C. Andrews] promoted to Colonel Watson [i.e., Lieutenant Colonel Hans Mattson] to Lt Colonel Cap Foster [i.e., Major Everett W. Foster] to Major
