Nov the 23 the 1862

Dear Husband

     Your very welcome letter of the 16 Inst came to hand last night I h I rec one a few days ago writen before Mr Wright left I am very sory to hear that you have taken a backset you ought not to of taken the trip to Hollies Springs [sp. Holly Springs] for you know a little cold & exposure will Increase the so hurting In your side
I hope you will a void such trips as this until you can stand exposure I hope this will not terminate In any thing serious But If it should I think you had better take the advice of your friends for It would afford Me the greatest of pleasure to have you home at any time & especialy If you was sick John Thomas was here last night
he had just received your letter of the 10th he says the last date credit one the note Is dated the same as the Book accounts that In is he only counted up the credits on the Book from the time the last credit was placed one the note & that there Is nothing to show that this Is not due Leads has not commenced gathering corn yet George has only ben gathering a litle by him self he Intends geting one of Bowmans boys to help him next week

we had a delightful rain last week It cleared off with out even a freeze at night & the weather Is delightful the wheat Is coming up very nicely since the rain
     Mr Simpers has not ben here to do any work since you left I dont know why he does not come you need not distress your self about my not having money yet unless I have to spend some on the house I can do with very litle I got such things as the family needed at Mr Sharps on credit
Mr Basley sent me word he would be over in a few days for fany I have not met with an opportunity of selling Nell yet John Thomas thinks Osbern has bought a horse our hogs seem to be fatning very fast there Is a bout 40 that will do to kill Mr Pullen & others have ben loosing their hogs with the cholery there has ben no byers for pork yet the papers qouote corn at 45 & 50 cts In the ear
Will Mason was visiting us this week he Is still Improving slowly but the wound looks very bad yet Scott has a pair of new Boots & you dont know what a good boy he Is he gets up & makes such good fires of a morning

a brings In the wood does many things him & Flora took Margret to town yesterday & come home a lone
I am glad you find your feather bed so comfortable at night for It will give me some pleasur of a cold night to think you are sleeping warm I must close for I want to send this to the office this eavning
we are all well for the present the children all sends their love to pa
