April.24th 1870
Samuel & Huldah Reeve

     Dear Brother and sister With pleasure Wee write to you in answer to yours of the 6th of febuary Wee was glad to hear from you and Glad to hear that you Was all Well. Wee are all well here With the exception of the Hoopingcough the Children All has it thoughnot very Bad yet, In the first place I Will Give you the Discription of the Nine Hundred & sixty Acres of land As Nearly As I can it lies in Redriver County in sulphur Bottom it is About As rich land as this Contry Afords the Greatest portion of it overflows the North West corner is on the Hill out of the bottom ) (it is A Bounty Warrant isued to the heirs of Abram Pea I have the pattent & also the transfers From the Pea heirs to Zelif and from Zelif to papa) (W Hargis I supose the title Will Be Good) the Money paid thare Will Answer Just the same As paid to Me

Sam I Dont Want you to think that That I thougt you inquisitive By Asking concernig the Estate it is Nothing More than your Duty to Do so As you are intereted I Will Be Glad to Give you or Any of you Any iformation I can concerning the Estate if requested to do so by any of you ) concerning the Notes Against John and Ben Hargis Wee will try to Have A Settlement With them) so far As I am concerned I Would rather Give it to them if they owe it than to Ask them to pay it ) But that Would Not let me out so the best Way is As good as any And as hard to find Enough of this ) Wee would be glad to see you Coming out here soon Wee want to see you all ) give our love and respects to all Write soon
