Dear Father

I am well as usual and so are the rest of the boys We was on the march 2 two days And we have built works Shermans army has all fell back to this place for rest I saw the 68th O.V.V.I. The boys are all well in the Regt and they have not lost a man since they left Atlanta last fall But have had a pretty hard time of it I saw old W T day before yesterday he reviewed our corps that day We are considerable in number

There is troops enough to form a string of fight 26 miles long besides the cavelry what do you think of that We rather think that old Lee is going to give us a call and if he does we have not any to many for him although old Grant will follow him very close and if he does not loose part of his force in evacuating there I am a louse Sherman issued an order that his troops should have rest and plenty of the best to eat out of the gransies of the north and when they next start on another campaign they will strike the the death blow to the rebellion I do not know when I shall have an
