It has been some time since I heard from you and I do not know which wrote last I suppose you will see that I am a good ways from my usual base of supplies but nevertheless we have a plenty I suppose we are on our way to join Billy Sherman down around Charleston We may go to the army of the Potomac

We started from Clifton Tenn on the 16th of this month and come up to Cin on the river and from there we took the cars for Columbus then took the Ohio Central and arrived here last night about midnight It is quite cool here but there is not much snow Our Div Hd. Qrs. baggage is down on the leaves awaiting the transports I tell you that I do not like the rest of our trip on the Atlantic but shall have to put up with it There was just about one half of our Regt left us at Columbus for home on frenches I do not know what they

will do with them for it there was some of our Commiss officers that went the same way there is not over 150 men here with us here We had a tough old time in Cin There was most all of them pretty tight And the boys got into a grocery and rolled out a lot of kegs of beer we had one in our car And then we had a high time to keep the drunk ones in the car I guess I have written enough of this foolis stuff and that is all I have to write
