Camp Chase O. Co. I. 1st Battalion
March 30th/64

Yesterday I orderd a box but to day I countermand the same for this reason it is the general opinion of the boys that we can french it as we call it and if there is a chance for any such thing as that I am going to see home and friends once more and for that reason you kneed not send me a box They say that we can get a 48 hour pass and take it and get transportation on it and you can be gone 15 days we have to report here every 15 days and I think I shall try and french it a little about next week there is some of the boys going to try it I believe

I am well this morning so are the rest of the boys I came across R Raymond and Fred Legget and also Wm. Weir Sergt that was wounded in the arm in the fight the time I was taken prisoner There is a chance of working out here in the country chopping wood 1.OO per chord or 1.50 per day for driveing team after I get able I shall try it I believe Well I must close good by write soon Direct to Co. I. 1st. Battallion parole forces Camp Chase Ohio
