Ever Dear Wife

I expected to have come to the Plains a day or so ago but have been prevented by buisness. Goforth has employed me to look after his case. Deadrick has been drunk and he and Carrick Nelson broke the windows and the dishes up at Dr Rodifers Hotel. Rodifer came for me and said he was hollowing for Jeff Davis—he ran off and I did not get to see him. I understand he is at David Deadricks his Uncle's who lives here. I have been sick for a day or so—with the cold and headache. Some better this morning.
Sherman has taken Savannah took it on the 21st Inst.
I will be up to the Plains tomorrow. When your Father comes down again I will get Logan's boy and Send him up.
I wrote you that I would have to start to Nashville next Thurs-
