I thought I would write you a fiew lines to let you know that I am well and I hope this will find you the same I guess I will send you $80 we was paid off to day Orderly Mitchell [i.e., Pvt. Carey Mitchell, Co. K, 84th Illinois Infantry] is going home and I will send it by him
