Cloudy & pleasent up Town to day Buy 1 Pipe $100 [i.e., $1.00], 1 Jar Pickls 75 cts, 3 Heads Cabbage 50 cts Total $2'25 Fix Our tent Dress Parade

THURSDAY, JULY 30, 1863.

Pleasent mail arrive Recieve 3 letters Report arrives that Brogan is captured

 

TUESDAY 28

Pleasent Carry brush one mile to shade tent Dress Parade silently the shades of evening Gather round my lonely door Silently they bring before me Faces I shall see no more

 

FRIDAY 31

Warm On Duty this fore noon Coprl of gard to gard wagons in to the country Sick Head ache in the afternoon Dress Parade

 

WEDNESDAY 29

Pleasent, 20 men Detailed to go out foraging The child went up with a lot of cecish Prisenors Sent $10'00 home Tibbetts [i.e., Private? Franklin Tibbets] & I make a lot of nut cakes

Cloudy High wind in the afternoon Reported under Marching Orders, George B [i.e., Private? George Breuer] on extra duty Write four letters, C A Boyden [i.e., Private? Charles A. Boyden] caught a Turtle weight 30 lbs
