SATURDAY, JUNE 27, 1863.

Cloudy, Relieved at 7.O.C Dress Parade, Orders to be ready to march a moments warning Receive a Letter from Illinois Colonel found Mr Bliss 25 gone to Cyprus Bend [sp. Cypress Bend]

TUESDAY, JUNE 30, 1863.

Cloudy this morning Bombardment ceased down below Received two Letters One from Ill & one Minn No Dress Parade, D 11 Started for Vicksburg

 

SUNDAY 28

Cloudy Inspection of arms & ammunition Bombardment ceased to day at Vicksburg Dress Parad Roll Call at 4.o.c After which we repair to our Humble couches to visit the Land of Dreams

 

WEDNESDAY, JULY 1

Very warm, 25 returned from Cyprus bend Write two Letters No Dress Parade David returned from Vicksburg Did not find his Brother

 

MONDAY 29

Warm On Fatigue on Boat Burnsides Division gone to the front, Relieved at 6 1/2 oc

 

THURSDAY 2

Dredfull Warm Firing ceased at Vicksburg Write a Ltter to Mr H D K on guard No Dress Parade All quiet down below
