MONDAY, JUNE 15, 1863.

Raining Drill this morning Mail Received two Leters moved camp two & a half miles down the yazo [i.e., Yazoo], Get wet through at Knight no Roll Call Sing wet Sheet & flowing Sea & retire to rest

THURSDAY, JUNE 18, 1863.

Heavy Fog Receive a letter Regt Relieved Pickid som Blackburries unpack our clothing Scouts return with between 4 & 500 Horses & Cattle & 30 Prisenors Went fishing

 

TUESDAY 16

Cloudy but pleasent Fix up our Tents write a Letter Ten Thousand troops arive Raining in the eavening

 

FRIDAY 19

Very warm Police our camp A Battery of Six Guns came in this morning Report says that Osterhout [i.e., General Peter J. Osterhaus] has captured 17 Pieces of artilery from Johnson [i.e., General Joseph E. Johnston]

 

WEDNESDAY 17

Cloudy The Regt Detailed on Picket On Duty Five Boat loads of troops arrive Cap Hoit arrived Saw Jeneral Washburn [i.e., General Cadwallader C. Washburn]

 

SATURDAY 20

Very Warm Heavy Canonading at Vicksburg, On Fatigue to day, Dress Parade, Reported capture of Port Hudson Unfounded And now I lay me down to sleepe
