Nov 22  Started at nine oclock fine nice weather the mud frose a little, had to wait for the General when we came to the road we staid about half a hour, we came about 6 miles to a camp around two miles South East of Wilson Creek and camped

23rd  Sunday a very nice fine day nothing doing had dress parade

24th  had Batallion drill fine day was visited by the 10 Iowa bond Lt Hall gone to Springfield

25th  cold raw day spitting snow some all quiet

26th  laying still only drilling the weather is getting colder and windy

27th  quite raw and windy and cold

28th  cool and windy and looks like a storm turning colder



Dec 2nd  done nothing but drill to day been laying still but we had orders to day to march at noon drawn up in battle line at 12 oclock Started at 2 oclock got to Crane creek at 8 P.M.

4th  Started at 6 oclock and got to within 2 miles of Cassville at 5 oclock evening a hard march

5th  Started at 5 l/2 oclock and got to Elk Horn at 5 P.M. one man got killed and two criples got run over with the Wagons

6th  Started at 6 oclock got to Cross Hollows at 12 oclock noon and stoped 1/2 hour got nothing to eat and then started on and stoped about 10 miles west of Cross Hollows to get supper then went on and got to Fayettville [sp. Fayetteville] at 12 in the night
