from Atlanta at 9.oclk, A.M.

we got to castville [sp. Cassville] at night 7.o'k and stoped for the night we marched 41 miles to day 48 from Atlanta on the 13 we shoved out again for Dalton we travail to Day 36 miles to Resica [sp. Resaca] and stoped for the night got thereabout Dark Sunday the 14th we renewed our march on to Dalton we got to Dalton 1.o'clk A.M marched to Day 15 miles tho we Drew one days Ration & transportation to go to homes we got on the cars at Dalton at 3.o'clk P.M. and got to Chatanuga [sp. Chattanooga] at 6 P.M. Distance 38 miles and went into the Barrack at Solders home got supper and Stayed all night

Monday May 15th 1865 at

we left chatanuga for Nashvill at 6 oclk P.M. Distance 157 miles Run all night and on the 16th we arrived at Nashville at 12 1/2 P.M. and Reported the commander said we would have to take the oath of Allegiance to the United States they did not Recognize our Parole Furlough given by the Rebel Government & said we must take the oath I taken the oath & had to stay all night stayd at solders home on the 17 I got a pass to columbus left Nashvill 8:45 A.M. and started home a foot went 20 miles & stoped for the night with Mr Thomas on Pike 6 ms. from S. Hill
