April the 29 1864

29th was ordered to get Ready for Enspection The 30th we was Mustered & General Ensp most all ams condemed by a Col. May the 1st no news of interest The 2nd 2 Blockade Runer came in at our Fort at 3 oclk A.M. the 3rd I was on cook we Drew muskets Bad lot of Guns The 4th I was on Guard at camp Brag the countersign was Monitor the 5th nothing strange the 6th Eben was arrested I went to mobile on the Junior landed at [?] P.M. the 7th I stayed in mobile The 8th Remained in mobile all day at church at night The 9th

May the 9th 1864

I got my Pass Extended one day longer I left mobile at night arrived at fort morgan at 12.oclk the 10th Lieutant Smith Ressignation come to Fort Morgan The 11th but little news The 12th I was on cook 3 of the boys went to mobile to go to a military school the 13th Col Jackson taken comd of Fort Morgan the 14th I was on Guard at camp Brag the countersign was Shreesport I sent up application for transfer the 14th of May Col Jackson took command of Fort Morgan The 15th Sunday I was church no new that day
